Other String Instruments
The first type
of string instrument was a simple musical bow. The bow was first applied to
the lute in the 10th century which was the foundation for the deveolpment
of the violin. Violins are one of the popular choices in schools ... 'back
in the day' that is my day we learn recorders ... we have come a long
way!!!
At Ralph White Music we see a strong link between education and musical
tuition. We are working with the local schools to provied
the types of instruments they perfer. We stock several brands of voilin.
The very small quarter size violin to suit the a small child, and if their
interest develops they will progress through to full size.
The violin is steeped in tradition but that doesn't stop the manufacturers
from supplying pink, blue, purple and other colours to entice a youthful
student.
Other string instruments we have available for purchase are the ukulele,
the mandolin, the banjo, and the double bass. Many musicians are applying
their talents to playing the ukulele, these instruments have been around
for genertions, however the recent surge in popularity has been a catalyst
for manufactors to step up to the mark and supply quality instruments, for
the serious player. These prestigious instruments can come in tenor size
and made of beautiful timbers.
